Potsdam Advances To First Ever State Title Game

The undefeated Sandstoners advance to thier first state title game in school history.

Down 15-12 in the second quarter, Potsdam ended the first half on a 18-1 run as PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME John Coleman scored 12 second quarter points as Potsdam built a 30-16 halftime lead.

The Lakesiders started out the third with seven straight points but the Stoners ended the third on a 17-8 stretch. Coleman ended the game wirh 25 points and EVANS AND WHITE TOUGH AS NAILS PLAYER OF THE GAME Zach Adams scored 19.

For Charlotte, Kievom Brooks tallied 17 and George Shoat added 10. Potsdam next faces Burke Catholic in the NYS Class B title game as the Eagles hold on for a 63-58 win over Westhill.

NYS CLASS D BOYS BASKETBALL SEMI-FINAL

NEW YORK MILLS 59, CHATAUGAY 55

The Bulldogs season comes to a close and almost pull off the upset against the number one team in state.

Within two possessions for most of the game Chateaugay trailed by one after one and three at halftime. The Bulldogs were able to tie the game at 44-44 with two free thorws by Michael Boyea. However the Mauraders went on a 7-0 that put the game away with three minutes to go.

Jake Kehreli scored 15 second half poins and 18 in all for New York Mills. Fred Ross finished with a double souble 15 points 10 rebounds. Matt Welch added 12 and Nick Etienne 11 for the Section III champs who will take on Coleman Catholic in the Class D Title game.

Ian Henderson, Alex Lamica, and Boyea all scored 12 for Chateaugay while Eric Fleury mananged ten.
