Briedis Scores 19 In Lady Bears Triumph Over Brockport, Men Win Over Golden Eagles

The Bears came out with an angressive game plan in burying the Golden Eagles to move over .500 in the SUNYAC.

Potsdam set the tempo early with their full court press and outside shooting nailing three straight 3-pointers to start the game.  Eight different players scored for the Bears in the first half led by Curtis Pierce's eight by halftime. Pierce would end up with a double double of 18 points and 13 rebounds in the win.

Potsdam pushed the lead to 49-29 as Brockport got back within nine at 65-56, but Potsdam ended the game on a 9-4 run. Greg Torchon scored 11 off the bench as the Bears went 22 of 28 from the foul line.

For Brockport, Kyheem Green paced his way with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Gearald tallied 15p and Zack McTigue managed 14 in the effort. The Golden Eagles struggled from beyond the arc going 2 for 18.

The Lady Bears hold off a Golden Eagle comeback in claiming their first league win of the season.

An early 4-4 tie led to Potsdam scoring five in a row and then going up by as much 12 in the first half. Up by 16 four minutes into the third, Brockport managed a comeback and got within three at 52-49 before Potsdam scored seven of the last nine points to claim victory.

Katie Briedis led all scorers with 19 points, 10 coming in the first half including three 3-pointers. Jessica Kouzan scored 12 off the bench for Potsdam,

For Brockport, Mallory Buckley hit five 3-pointers in scoring 15 points as the Golden eagles were held to 30-percent shooting.
