Potsdam Girls Survive Scare From Harrisville In Non-League Win |

Down to the wire the lady Sandstoners pulled out a non-league win surivivng two Harrisville comebacks.
Potsdam paced their way scoring the first seven before the Pirates made it a two point game after one. The Sandstoners then out scored Harrisville 15-7 in the second quarter as PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Veronica Sapp scored 12 by halftime.
She proceeded to score 10 more in the third as the Stoners 26-16 before Harrisville scored 10 straight to tie the game with Kathleen Coloney tying the game with a lay up with 3:38 to go. SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME Desirae Andrew scored eight third quarter points in co-leading the Pirates with ten.
Potsdam regained the lead scoring six straigh toward the end of the third. The Pirates got the lead back on with four minutes ro go at 39-37 and 43-41 before the Stoners scored the last four. A Sapp jumper tied the game with 50 seconds left and EVANS AND WHITE TOUGH AS NAILS PLAYER OF THE GAME Rachael Johnson buried a shot with 24 seconds left to give the Stoners the lead.
Harrisville managed several shots from close range with seconds to play but Potsdam held on for the win Sapp led all scorers with 29 points. Johnson scored nine and pulled down 13 rebounds. For Harrisivlle, Katie French porduced a double double with 10 points and 12 boards. Kelci Bango added ten.
