SAUNDERS NAMED THIRD TEAM ALL-REGION ON D3FOOTBALL.COM St. Lawrence University Junior Saftey Trevor Saunders was named to the All-East Region 3rd Team by d3football.com. Saunders was second on the team this season with 86 tackles and was first on the team with 12 pass break up and also had an interception. Saunders was a first team all Liberty League defensive player in helping guide the Saints to there first ever Liberty League conference football championship. Saunders hails from Dobby Ferry, NY
Casey Capello Liberty League Co-Guard of the Week Capello was named MVP of the Park Lodge Tournament, helping the Saints to a 2-0 weekend and the tournament title. The Hanover, MA native recorded 12 points, four rebounds and two steals in a 72-59 win over Framingham College on Saturday. She capped the weekend with 16 points, two rebounds and a steal as the Saints defeated host Regis College 67-60 in the championship game on Sunday
Kelly Legg Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week Legg averaged 16.5 points per game, helping the Saints to a 2-0 weekend and the Park Lodge tournament title. On Saturday, she recorded 22 points, four rebounds, a block and two steals in a 72-59 win over Framingham. The Fairport, NY native then scored 11 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and a steal as the Saints closed out the weekend with a 67-60 victory over Regis College in the championship game on Sunday.
Justin Spalik Liberty League Track Performer of the Week Spalik won the 55 hurdles in a time of 7.98 (currently ranked sixth in Division III) and ran the anchor leg on the 4x400 relay in the Saint Holiday Relays. A.J. Blaisdell Liberty League Field Performer of the Week Blaisdell won the weight throw in the Saint Holiday Relays with a personal record of 14.28 meters. It was his second consecutive win in the event.
Brendan Courneene Liberty League Rookie of the Week Courneene finished sixth in the mile in 4:31.73 and ran the 1200 meter leg of the winning DMR which posted a time of 11:05.44, the fifth fastest in Division III thus far this season.
Megan Derby Liberty League Track Performer of the Week Derby won the 3000 meters in 10:36.16 to lead a St. Lawrence sweep of the event in the Saint Holiday Relays.
Caitlin Boreyko Liberty League Field Performer of the Week Boreyko won the pole vault with a 2.90 meter vault at the Saint Holiday Relays.
Hannah Kinsey Liberty League Rookie of the Week Kinsey finished second in the 200 in 27.21 seconds; was sixth in 7.77 in the 55 and ran the anchor leg on the 4x200 relay at the Saint Holiday Relays.
