FALL ISLAND CHURCH ADDITION TO BE COMPLETE NEXT JUNE--A groundbreaking litirgy was held outdoors in Tuesday afternoon's snow for the expansion of the parish hall at Trinity Episcopal Church. The addition is about 23-hundred square feet. A long-term preservation-renovation-expansion of the historic church has been 9 years in the making.
OGDENSBURG MAN FACES CRACK COCAINE CHARGE--City Police raided a residence at 461 Belmont Courts about 12:15 Tuesday morning, netting 23 packets of crack worth about 12-thousand dollars, a small amount of marijuana, cash and drug paraphernalia. 23-year-old Eldridge Gossom of Buffalo was charged with a felony possession with intent to sell, arraigned and jailed on 40-thousand dollars cash bail or 80-thousand dollars bail bond.
DEKALB JUNCTION MAN CHARGED WITH STRANGULATION FELONY--A domestic incdient at French Hall on the SUNY Canton campus Monday brought the arrest of 34-year-old Brad Barlow. Strangulation is a newer felony charge in this state, that gives police more teeth when dealing with abuse cases. A check with St.Lawrence County Corrections this morning revealed Barlow was not incarcerated; details about arraignment, etc. were not available from State Police today.
THREE HOMELESS AFTER HOPKINTON FIRE--The residence of Steven Spence and Family on Sheldon Road was lost to flames Tuesday morning; the blaze was sparked by the improper disposal of ashes.
