99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR SATURDAY, 11/20/10

TWO OVERNIGHT ROBBERIES, TWO BURGLARIES UNDER INVESTIGATION IN MASSENA--Police Chief Tim Currier says the South Main Street Sunoco was held up about 1:40 this morning by a white male with a tanned complexion who entered the store demanding money, saying he had a gun. He left the store with cash. He is described as about 5'7"-5'8", about 175-190 pounds and 25-30 years of age. The Super 8 Motel on Route 37 was robbed of cash about 3:30 this morning by a white male in his mid-20's, about 5'7" with reddish blond or red-orange hair on his chin. A residential burglary was reported on Barnhart Road about 3:25am, and Tony's Pizza was burglarized about 4:55am. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to call police at 769-3577.

ROUTE 3, CHILDWOLD ACCIDENT INVOLVING 8-9 VEHICLES CLEARED--Fire and Rescue crews, National Grid, State Police and many other emergency services personnel were called about 5:40 this morning for a multi-vehicle pile-up near the Thirsty Moose. Injuries were not reported to be serious; road conditions were less than ideal from a mix of rain and snow.

PRESCRIPTION DRUGS MAY HAVE MOTIVATED OGDENSBURG ROBBERY-HOMICIDE--City Police Chief Richard Polniak reported late yesterday it is not believed three men who entered the residence of 83-year-old Ralph Lawton on the 900 block of Ford Street Thursday afternoon intended to kill him. No suspect was in custody this morning.
