The Saints open the season with a convincing win at Jerry Welsh Gym.
A back and forth game for most of the first half saw SLU end the first half on a 8-2 run to go up by nine as first year player Kelly Legg scored 13 first half points including three 3-poiniters.
The Saints increased the lead to 25 in the second half as the Saints hit 11 3-pointers in the game and shot 48 percent in the second half going on a 25-10 run.
Legg finished with 18 points and eight rebounds four steals and three blocks. Casey Capello dished out 13 points in thw win.
For Potsdam, Brittany Whitton scored 12 points and pulled in five rebounds.

EMPIRE STATE GAMES CANCELLED FOR SECOND TIME IN THREE YEARS According to a report in the Poughkeepsie Journal, Empire State Games Administrator Lisa Del Signore sent a letter to ESG athletes comfirming the states decision to cancel the 2011 Summer and Winter Empire State Games. With budget cuts in the NYS Parks and Recreation Department and the lay-off of two employees plus the reassignment of three others, there is no or staff to support the games. The Games were canned in 2009 when the Hudson Valley region were to host but made a comeback in 2010 in Buffalo when First Niagara FInancial dropped $500,000 in support.
