SLU Men's Soccer to Host First Two Rounds Of D-III Soccer Tourney

SLU MEN TAKES ON SUNYIT IN FIRST ROUND OF NCAA D-III SOCCEER TOURNAMENT
The NCAA D-III Men's Soccer Committee annouces that St. Lawrence University will host the first two rounds of the NCAA D-III Men's Soccer Tounament.  The Saints who won the Liberty League Men's Soccer title on Saturday will take on SUNYIT on Friday November 12th in Opening round play.  The other side of the bracket will pit Plattsburgh St. vs. Amherst College.  Times will be annouced later on by the St. Lawrence University Athletic department. 


CLARKSON VOLLEYBALL MAKES NCAA TOURNAMENT
Despite falling in the Liberty League Volleyball Tournament over the weekend the Clarkson University Volleyball team makes its second consecutive NCAA D-III Volleyball Tournament. The 27-9 Golden Knights will travel to NYU and take on Hunter College in round one on November 12th. The other bracket pits host NYU versus Westfield State.

Sam DeMello Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week
DeMello scored a goal in the Saints 3-2 overtime win over Hamilton in the Liberty League semifinals and assisted on a goal in the Saint championship win over RPI.


James Stewart Liberty League Co-Defensive Performer of the Week
Stewart earned MVP honors in the Liberty League tournament as his play in the middle of the backfield helped hold Hamilton and RPI to a combined six shots on goal in their games against the Saints. Stewart also had an assist on breakout passes in each game.


Adrian Bucksam Liberty League Rookie of the Week
Bucksam assisted on the game winning goal in a 3-2 overtime win over Hamilton in the Liberty League semifinals and scored the game winning goal in the Saints championship game win over RPI.


Abby Rose Liberty League Co-Performer of the Week
Rose led the #3 seeded Saints to the program's first ever Liberty League Championship, going undefeated in the tournament. The senior setter, who was named MVP of the tournament, compiled 157 assists (10.5 assists/set), 8 service aces, 50 digs (3.33/set), and 4.5 blocks on the weekend. She also contributed 19 kills on 51 attempts for a percentage of .314.


Sara Artus Liberty League Co-Performer of the Week
Artus was chosen to the Liberty League Championships All-Tournament team posting 64 kills in just 13 sets (4.92 per set). She recorded 13 kills against St. Lawrence, and had 17 kills in three-set sweeps against Union, Vassar, and St. Lawrence.


Lani Durio Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week
Durio averaged 11.46 assists per set (149) total in the four-match Liberty League Championships Tournament. She also added 33 digs, 4 aces, and 13 kills with a .314 hitting percentage.


Katie Prue Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week
Prue helped the #3 seeded Saints go 4-0 in the Liberty League tournament en route to their first ever conference title. The freshman right back had only one receiving error in 48 attempts, good for a .979 receiving percentage. The Lockport, NY native also recorded 5 service aces and 50 digs on the weekend (3.33/set).


Mike Rowe Liberty League Co-Swimmer of the Week
Rowe won a pair of events in a dual meet against Oswego State, taking the 200 freestyle (1:52.54) and the 200 backstroke (2:02.13). He also was the lead swimmer on the winning 400 medley relay team (3:52.63).
