99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR MONDAY, 11/8/10

CLARKSON UNIVERSITY WELLNESS COORDINATOR CHARGED WITH DRUNKEN DRIVING AFTER ON-CAMPUS ACCIDENT--Potsdam Police arrested 58-year-old Daniel Davis of Potsdam about midnight early this morning after he allegedly struck another vehicle in the parking lot of the Cheel Campus Center. Davis was found allegedly asleep behind the wheel. He allegedly registered a blood-alcohol content of .21%--more than twice the legal limit. Davis was charged with Aggravated DWI and unsafe backing, and released on tickets to appear in Village Court November 24th. Davis is well-known for a long career in youth alcohol and drug prevention.

CANTON SORORITY HOUSE BURGLARY INVESTIGATION--Village Police Chief Alan Mulkin says an unidentified male suspect entered Delta Delta Delta house on Main Street about 4am Sunday through a first floor window. The alleged burglar made off with camera gear, cell phones, and other items. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 386-4561.

RUSSELL TOWN TAXES TO GO DOWN FIRST TIME IN 10 YEARS--Supervisor Bob Best, Jr says the decrease is one-tenth of a percent, however that beats 8-percent increases each of the 10 previous years--and the budget improves services and makes many improvements.

THREE PEOPLE TREATED FOR SMOKE INHALATION AT PICAIRN FIRE SCENE--Harrisville firefighters and mutual aid were called about 11am Sunday to the residence of Tracey Berckley, 11 County Route 23. A wood stove is blamed for the fire. Damage was termed 'extensive,' and uninsured. The American Red Cross has been enlisted to help the family.
