AUBERTINE SAYS LEGISLATURE WILL GO BACK BEFORE ELECTION--48th Senate District incumbent Darrel Aubertine told 99 News Monday speculation by Democratic Assembly colleague Addie Russell in a 99 News interview that Senator Pedro Espada will 'not do anybody any favors' now that he lost his primary for re-election and cause the Senate to be unable to pass any bills, is 'presumptive' at this point. Espada was one of the renegade Democrats who caucused with the Republicans last year, causing a six-week stalemate. Espada got a leadership position in exchange for switching back from the elephants to the donkeys and giving the Democtats back their narrow margin.

JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU'VE HEARD IT ALL...Norwood Village Police arrested Timothy Morrill of Bernard Ave. Tuesday on a misdemeanor count of Possessing Stolen Property In the THird Degree, alleging he had a stolen, wooden alligator with an approximate value of 325 dollars. Morrill was released ona ticket to appear in Potsdam Town Court next week.

PARISHVILLE STORE BREAK-IN RESULTS IN TWO FELONIES AND A MISDEMEANOR FOR LOCAL TEEN--Sheriff's Deputies charged 19-year-old Jeremy Kocher of Norwood with Third Degree Burglary, Fourth Degree Grand Larceny, and a lesser count of Criminal Mischief alleging he recently broke into the Kunoco Food Mart and took over a thousand dollars worth of merchandise. Kocher was arraigned and released to probation supervision until a future court date.

RADICAL HOME-MAKER SAYS BASIC SKILLS LACKING--Shannon Hayes, the author of several books on the subject of abandoning mainstream consumer culture and getting 'back to the land,' told us in an interview Saturday at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm that canning produce, cooking from scratch, and other skills our not-too-distant ancestors all knew could be a big help to fiscally-struggling families if adopted, even in part.
