SILVER AND BLACK ENDS OPERATIONS, COACH RESIGNS AFTER CO-OWNER SEX SCANDAL--Head Coach James Compeau told 99 Sports Director Chris Engel yesterday the allegations surrounding co-owner Christopher Morin, and the semi-pro football team's association with him has done irreparable harm. Morin is free on 100-thousand dollars bond until future court action on charges he tried to lure an underage girl for sex in exchange for alcohol and drugs.
CLARKSON AND SUNY POTSDAM APPEAR IN US NEWS "BEST COLLEGES" RANKINGS--This marks SUNY Potsdam 12th year in a row for the list, Clarkson has also appeared many years running.
POTSDAM TRUSTEES FAIL TO PASS TRASH FEE HIKE--The board voted 2-2 Monday on the proposed 66-cent increase, to cover the fuel surcharge increase by Casella Waste Services. Trustee Steve Yurgartis voted no, as he feels he needs more time and information to decide, and that fuel prices have been stable recently. Trustee Steve Warr voted with Yurgartis; Trustees Ruth Garner and George Regan voted in favor. Mayor Ron Tischler was absent due to illness.
