CHILD PORN ARREST IN PIERCEFIELD--State Police based in Tupper Lake arrested 24-year-old Thomas Keenan of Rochester last Thursday on a felony count of Possessing a Sexual Performance By A Child, alleging he possessed inappropriate images of persons underage. No further details were available; the case is still under investigation.
HEUVELTON ATTEMPTED ROBBERY SUSPECT STILL AT LARGE--Sheriff's Investigators say a white male wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and green latex gloves entered the Wilson Farms store in the village about 6:45 Saturday night. No weapon was displayed, nothing was taken. The suspect fled the scene as police were called. He is believed to have gotten into a silver or tan Pontiac, of which witnesses got a partial license plate number. The car was not located. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Department at 379-2222.
FIREFIGHTERS SAVE VACANT HOUSE IN BOMBAY--Several fire departments from the area responded to the property of Tony Laughing on Franklin County Route 2 about 8:40pm Saturday. The cause is still under investigation.
CLARKSON TO OPEN SMALL BUSINESS CENTER IN THE ADIRONDACKS--The University has run a similar center in Potsdam since 2004. It will offer the "My Small Business 101" course and offer technical and business assistance for successful completion of the classes. The center in Saranac Lake is expected to open in September.
