ELEVEN FELONIES FOR DEBIT CARD/CASH THEFT ALLEGATIONS PUT FINE MAN IN JAIL--20-year-old Gregory Lanphear was arrested by Gouverneur-based State Police Wednesday on nine counts of fourth degree grand larceny, one count of third degree grand larceny, and felony and misdemeanor identity theft counts. Lanphear allegedly swiped his then-girlfriend's debit card and made over $3600 in cash withdrawals over thirty-five incidents from the end of May to early July of this year. Lanphear was arraigned and jailed on 15-thousand dollars cash bail.
NORWOOD MAN ARRESTED FOR POT POSSESSION TWICE IN ONE WEEK--20-year-old Kyle Hawley was arrested with a Jefferson County man Thursday after an alleged five pounds of pot was discovered in the spare tire of a vehicle he was in, pulled over near St.Lawrence Centre in Massena Thursday. Hawley and the other man were charged with felony second degree possession, arraigned and jailed on 10-thousand dollars bail. Hawley was arrested last Thursday in the Town of Tupper Lake, after troopers made a traffic stop and found him to allegedly possess four ounces of weed. He was charged with misdemeanor possession and released on a court ticket.
DETECTIVES BELIEVE TWO DEKALB DEATHS MURDER-SUICIDE--43-year-old Jeffrey Paquette and his 44-year-old wife Denise was found dead inside their residence off County Route 19 Thursday morning, after the county 911 center received a call from a male that said 'please hurry,' according to a WWNY-TV 7 News report. Mr. Paquette was found with a handgun in his hand; his wife slumped over a chair next to him; both with gunshot wounds from rounds fired by a gun registered to Mr.Paquette. The investigation is ongoing.
