Sports Report 7-28: SLFCU Earns another Shut-Out, Softball Xplosion!

In the immortal words of Yogi Berra, it was déjà vu all over again for the St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union 14-Under soccer team.  They followed up their 6-0 victory over Lisbon by topping Hermon-DeKalb by a score of 5-0.  Again utilizing a balanced offensive attack SLFCU saw four players score five goals.  The offense was led by Nate Giglio who score two goals and Peyton Lalone who continued his scoring ways by netting one goal and also notching 1 assist.  Tristen Moore and Michael Mallot also netted goals rounding out the scoring for SLFCU.  Again Jacob and Matt Shollette combined for the shut-out, this time stopping 10 shots between them.

It was a wild night in women’s softball with three teams putting up very large run totals in their respective games.  Oscar’s dominated Howie’s 20-7.  Jenn Ethridge led Oscar’s with five base hits (4 singles and 1 double).  Jenn Lassial also added 5 base hits of her own while Kara Pharoh added a triple and two singles.

Howie’s was led by Alicia Crowder hit collected three singles and Allyse Claxton who hit two singles. Phoenix on the Bay destroyed Myers by a score of 19-3.  Ginnelle Morley slugged a double and three singles, Kritter Farrell, who also goes by her real name of Kristi, launched a home-run, legged out a triple and connected for a single falling just a double shy of the cycle, and Megan McNamara hit a double and a triple in leading Phoenix to victory.  Myers offense was led by Nichole Fisher and Chris Stevenson who each hit two singles.

The Place decimated Vinn’s by a final score of 15-0.  Leading the offensive explosion for The Place was Kelsey Mallette and Maureen McNally who each hit a pair of doubles and singled once.  Vinn’s was led by Tabitha Addington who connected for a double.
