In golf action Dan Dinneen had birdies on the 13th and 17th holes capping off a fine round of one-under par golf with a 34. Dinneen lead the Murray’s Twin Brooks Golf League. The 13th hole proved to be quite lucky for Rich Pandel who eagled it en route to a solid score of 40. Half way through the season Vern Drew and Brek Murray lead the A Division while Gabe Halpin and Greg Hollis extended their B Division lead. In North Country Men’s Soccer League Action, The Place downed Canton 3-2. Eric Whitcomb, Ryan Geary and Dylan Reed scored the goals for The Place and Bill Gemmill played goal. Frary’s KO’d Massena by a whopping score of 18-5. Frary’s had one man advantage with 10 players while Massena only had 9 which helped the offensive explosion. Ian Amo and Seth Richards each scored 5 goals a piece while Ricky Stevenson scored 3. Chris Frary and Jordan Spears each scored twice with Drew Winters netting a single goal of his own. Massena’ scoring was led by Matt LeVack and DJ Broadbent who each scored 2 goals and Peyton Harper who scored once. Parishville defeated Canton Parkway Auto by a score of 4-1. John O’Grady scored the lone goal for Canton Parkway. The Salmon River vs. Ogdensburg was postponed until July 25th. CJ’s McDuff’s shut out Scoops 4-0. Adam Parker netted the first goal of the game off of a corner kick from Willi Steinrotter, later in the game Parker scored off of a penalty kick. Steinrotter scored a goal of his own and Kyle VanBrocklin rounded out the scoring with a goal. Joe Knox pitched in with 2 assists. Zach Richardson was superb in goal stopping 6 shots on his way to a shut-out victory. Former Professional baseball player Peter Hoy has been named the new head baseball coach for St. Lawrence University. He has spent the last several years as the pitching coach for Division 1 LeMoyne College in Syracuse. The Wilson Hill Association and the Town of Louisville and the Louisville Volunteer Fire Dept. have organized a walk\run fundraiser, with proceeds from the event going to the Louisville Fire Dept. The Turtle Trot Walk-Run will be held this Saturday July 10th at Whalen Park. Same day registration begins at 7:30 am.
