99 NEWS FOR DAY 1 OF POTSDAM SUMMERFEST, JULY 8TH, 2010

RALPH FULLER RE-ELECTED POTSDAM SCHOOL BOARD PRESIDENT--The Board voted unanimously to re-elect longtime Board member Fuller Tuesday to the top spot for a second year. His Vice-Chair will once again be J. Patrick Turbett, also elected to the post unanimously.

STILL SWELTERING, BUT RELIEF IN SIGHT--Weather Observer Rick O'Hanlon recorded a high heat index yesterday of 103 degrees, and a near-record high temperature of 93.  Expect about the same temps today, however the air will not be as oppressive; the index is moderate, one step below dangerous for sensitive persons. The heat spell is expected to break a little Friday.  Heat Advisory in effect until 8pm.

MILK PRICES ON THE RISE--The New York office for the US Agricultural Statistics Service has an average price of $16.90 for June, up 90 cents for the month and up $4.50 for the year to date.

TRESPASSING ARREST TURNED OUT TO BE MORE FOR POTSDAM POLICE--Police were called to a residence on Washington Street during the 4 o'clock hour Wednesday morning for a man allegedly trying to enter. 20-year-old Jonathan Hathaway was arrested for trespassing, and was taken to the police station for processing. Upon release, Hathaway allegedly urinated out the front door onto the sidewalk. He received an additional ticket for Public Urination.
