Lots of action for 7-1 Sports Report

First off in Ladies Soccer action  McDuff’s dominated Heuvelton by a score of 6-1.  Tessa Curry led the way for the victors with 3 goals while Jillian Goodrich, Kaila Maguire, and Ginnette Cornett each scored a goal a piece.  Riane Fletcher scored the single goal for Heuvelton.

 

Norwood-Norfolk defeated Star Lake 3-1.  Amanda Roi had the hat-trick for NN while Jessie Sawyer and Katie Smith pitched in with assists.  Brynn Tebo recorded 16 saves in a winning effort.  For Star Lake, Katie Donovan scored the lone goal on a set-up from Glenda Hanley.  Nichole French was solid in goal for Star Lake.

 

Dow’s Electric really put the shock treatment to Edwards-Knox winning their contest 13-2.  Brittanie Monroe, Megan, Bicknell, Stephanie Cox, and Brooke Enslow each scored two goals while Stephanie Collins and Cassidy Poste, and Lauren Cox recorded single goals in a shocking offensive performance from Dow’s Electric.  Edwards-Knox offense was led by Vanessa Bullock and Brittany Leroux who each scored once.

 

FC Freeze froze out Canton winning their game 3-0.  Kamrie Dandrow scored with an assist from Danielle Durocher and punched in another goal unassisted.  Rachel Bowdish pitched in the 3rd goal for the Freeze.  Mel Mauer was icy cool in goal stopping three shots in recording the shut-out.  Niki Hayes has 8 1st half saves while Brittany Bessette had 9 saves in the second half for Canton.

 

Potsdam Ton’s defeated Harrisville via forfeit as did Akwesasne over Ogdensburg.

 

In Men’s soccer Canton was victorious over Carthage 4-2.  Anthony Spaddicinni scored two of the four goals while Jason Briggs and Colby Young rounded out the scoring for Canton.

 

The Knights of Columbus U12 soccer team was victorious in it’s season opener deafeating Potsdam by way of shut-out 5-0.  Sam Woods, Kallie Grant and Jack Byrnes scored three late 1st half goals giving KofC a 3-0 lead.  Kallie Grant struck again in the second half as did Savarah Adun pushing the score to 5-0.  Splitting time in goal were Will Kroeger and Nate Molinari who combined to stop 11 shots in the victory.

 

In Sea-Way Slo Pitch softball play Nig’s Tavern won a pair of game.  They beat Myers Pub 12-6 in the first game and  defeated Sully’s Blue Heron 19-10 in the second game.

 

In the first game Andrew Ladoucer socked a home-run and added a single while Gene Bouyer supplied a double and a single.  In the second game Tyler Stevenson knocked two home-runs and connected for a single while Jamie Wallace added a double and a single for Nig’s offense.  Chris Showers had two singles for Sully’s Blue Heron.

 

Howie’s defeated by Myer’s Guns Hoses 13-5.  Andy Raven hit two home runs while Don Edwards hit a homer of his own and added two singles leading Howie’s.  For Myers Eric Burnett and Scott Reed each doubled and singled.

 

Myers G&H came out on top over Doug’s in a high scoring affair 15-8.  Myers was led by Ken Stull who had 4 singles while Scott Reed, Eric Brunett, Jamie Ladoucer, and Sean O’Brien each had 3 singles.  For Doug’s Brett Heaton crushed a home-run and Mike Raven added added two double and two singles.

 

The Place defeated their sister team The Place II in a close game 5-3.  Leading The Place was Jerrod McDonald with a double and a single.  Kris Murdock had two singles for The Place II and Brookin Decker connected for a double.

 

Phoenix on the Bay decimated Ogdensburg Bowl in a lop-sided game 15-0.  The win pushes Phoenix to a league best 13-2 record.  Andrew Dedecker hit a home-run and added two singles while Eric Robinson and Travis LaRock each singles twice and double.  For Ogdensburg Bowl Dave Edwards had two singles.
