POTSDAM SCHOOL SUPER SAYS BUDGET SITUATION MAY GET WORSE--Pat Brady gave the Board of Education a first-draft spending plan Tuesday with a deficit of about 1.8 million dollars, and a levy hike of 18 percent. Over a million dollars of the gap is a direct aid loss in the Executive spending plan. He says from what he has been hearing from legislators, Governor Paterson may have been overly optimistic, and aid will go go down even further. 10-15 teaching positions and 5-7 support staff may have to be cut.

DISTRICT 7 LEGISLATIVE RACE SEES GOP CANDIDATE--Scott Sutherland, a retired St.Lawrence County Sheriff's Detective has announced his bid for the largest district by land mass. Laura Perry, a Democrat has announced she will not run for another term.

SOAP OPERA STAR MARTINEZ: "NEVER SETTLE"--JR Martinez, a wounded Iraq War verteran appearing currently as a police officer on "All My Children," says his message of not giving up, not quitting speaks directly to young people. Martinez was on the Clarkson University campus Tuesday.

HOUSE VANDALISM SENDS MASSENA WOMAN TO JAIL--21-year-old Rebecca Newcombe allegedly entered an ex-boyfriend's residence, poured cranberry juice and laundry detergent on the floors, and may possibly have stolen items in what was reported to be a dispute related to child custody. Newcombe was charged with felony, second degree burglary, arraigned and jailed on 2500 dollars cash bail or 5-thousand dollars bail bond.
