POTSDAM WATER-SEWER CUSTOMERS WILL SOON HAVE ONLINE BILLING OPTION--Village treasurer Dave Fenton told Trustees this week customers will soon have the choice of receiving their water-sewer bills online, as well as the current option of paying them online.
INJURIES NOT SERIOUS FROM POTSDAM TRUCK-TRAIN COLLISION--State Police in Canton say 54-year-old Fa Lin of Rochester, making deliveries locally for Chinese restaurants apparently could not understand English well enough to read the signs, and turned into the Casella property off outer Maple Street during the Noon hour Friday. The truck collided with the CSX train as Lin was crossing the tracks. Lin received a cut to the lip and did not seek immediate medical attention. He was ticketed for failure to stop for the stop sign at the private crossing. The collision hammered the rear of the truck and lopped off a wheel.

POTSDAM WOMAN ALLEGEDLY KNEW ABOUT CHILD ABUSE, AND LIED ABOUT IT--Potsdam Police arrested 23-year-old Stacie Briggs Friday on two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, alleging she knew but failed to take proper measures after 25-year-old Don Anson struck and injured two children, ages 4 and 5 earlier in the week. Anson is charged with two counts of felony assault from the same case. Briggs allegedly gave police false reports to cover up the incidents. Briggs was released to appear in court next Wednesday.
NORFOLK TEEN CLEARED BY ST.LAWRENCE COUNTY JURY OF ONE RAPE CHARGE; JURY DEADLOCKS ON SECOND--19-year-old Daniel Rode, Jr. was found not guilty of forcible rape of a 17-year-old girl last May, when he was 18. The jury tied 6-6 on a stautory rape charge. The Watertown Daily Times says the third degree rape could be re-tried.
