'RETHINKING VALENTINE'S DAY' STRESSED IN SUNY POTSDAM PRO-GAY MARRIAGE DIALOGUE--SUNY Potsdam President Dr.John Schwaller spoke Friday in opening remarks for its "Standing On The Side Of Love" event. The nationwide awareness campaign was organized with a great deal of support from the Unitarian-Universalist community. Schwaller says gay marriage is a personal issue for him, as his nephew and his partner had to go to California to marry, during a limited time window. He says in his faith tradition, you treat people as you would expect to be treated.

GOUVERNEUR MAN JAILED AFTER BAR PARKING LOT INCIDENT--21-year-old Dustin Hitsman allegedly struck a Gouverneur Police officer with his vehicle in the parking lot of The Palms about 2am Sunday. The officer, Jason Whitton was treated at EJ Noble Hospital. Hitsman was charged with Felony Assault in the Second Degree, Aggravated DWI, and many other counts. He was arraigned and jailed on 5-thousand dollars cash bail or 10-thousand dollars bail bond.

TWO DRUNKEN DRIVING-RELATED FELONIES FOR NORFOLK MAN IN MASSENA--Village Police pulled over 21-year-old Adam Arno of County Route 39 on Stephenville Road about 12:15 this morning. He was held in police lockup until arraignment on Felony DWI and Felony AUO.

DRIVER STRIKES TREE IN CANTON, ARRESTED--Village Police charged 19-year-old Taylor Jenkins of Stillwater, NY about 4:20 Sunday morning after he allegedly drove off Main Street in front of Mc.Donald's. Injuries were not serious. Jenkins was charged with DWI, no seat belt and other counts and released on court tickets.
