LANDLORD INPUTS ON PROPOSED POTSDAM VILLAGE RENTAL PERMIT--Clark Porter, who owns close to a hundred rental units in the Village over about 17 properties, told Trustees Monday they have been less than forthcoming about fees and implications of a proposed requirement landlords get a permit for the privilege of renting property. Porter told Trustees it makes it harder for the 'economic engine of the Village' to survive. The Board is seeking a way to crack down once and for all on safety and quality-of-life issues related to primarily student rentals.

POTSDAM WEEKEND FIGHT BRINGS FELONIES--Village Police arrested 21-year-old Thomas Delpha and 22-year-old Thomas Farley on counts of Felony Assault stemming from a series of incidents early Saturday morning. Delpha allegedly wielded a collapsible baton in one instance. Delpha was arraigned and jailed on 10-thousand dollars bail; Farley was released to probation supervision until future court dates. Delpha and a third suspect, 22-year-old Daniel Chapman received serious facial injuries and were taken by ambulance to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, treated and released. Chapman was ticketed for Disorderly Conduct.

POTSDAM MAN ARRESTED ON THREE FELONY SEX CHARGES--25-year-old Dustin Musick was arrested by Potsdam Police Monday on two counts of third degree rape and a count of criminal sexual act alleging relations with a 15-year-old girl last summer. Musick was arraigned and jailed on 10-thousand dollars cash bail or 20-thousand dollars bail bond.
