OGDENSBURG MAN ARRESTED, INJURED FROM POWER POLE CRASH--State Police say 55-year-old Thomas Free of King Street lost control of a pick-up on Route 68, or Main St. just outside the City limits about 9:20 Thursday night, crashing into a National Grid pole. About 1600 people were without power as crews braved bitter cold wind chills to make the repair. Free received cuts to the head and was treated and released from Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. He allegedly had a BAC of .11 percent, and was charged with DWI and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a BAC of .08 or Greater. Free was released on tickets to appear in Oswegatchie Town Court February 3rd.
COLTON WINTERFEST WEEKEND IS HERE--The series of events is the Town's biggest draw, pulling thousands to the small Adirondack foothills community. 99 Hits/WPDM News Director Scott Dosztan will once again MC the talent show at the Colton-Pierrepont High School auditorium that starts tonight at 7. GOP CONGRESSIONAL CONTENDERS BUILD WAR CHESTS--Official campaign disclosures show Matthew Doheny with about 337-thousand dollars as of the filing date; however he announced this week he now has over 600-grand on hand. Doug Hoffman filed an official disclosure form stating he had about 219-thou in the pot at the time. Hoffman, running on the Conservative line spent about 1.2 million in the special election he lost to Democrat Bill Owens, the current Congressman serving the 23rd District.
