BOYS AND GIRLS B-BALL ACTION

BOYS BASKETBALL:

E-K 63 - Morristown 56

 Dave Bullock banked home a three-pointer at the
buzzer of the third quarter and then connected for two more threes in a 20-5
fourth quarter run by the Eagles.  Bullock finished with a game-high 23
points and nine rebounds and Taylor Davis netted 13 points for the Cougars.
Morristown, which opened a 35-27 lead early in the third quarter, was
sparked by smooth shooting nights from Nick Nugent who tallied 18 points
with five rebounds and three assists and Connor Learn who delivered a
17-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Heuvelton 65, C-F 53

 Exploding early, the Bulldogs sealed the win in the
first half for a 54-25 halftime lead. David Putman scored 21 points to pace
the Bulldogs. Andrew Ross and Trevor Brothers each scored 11 and  Travis
Wood added nine.
Tom McCormick supplied 17 points, 14 rebounds, seven blocks and four steals
to lead the Eagles. Tim Fetterhoff added 17 points and eight rebounds while
Andrew Gearsbeck chipped in 13 points.

 Four players scored double figures for the
Demons who remain unbeaten in the NAC West. Jon Peters generated 18 points,
Dylan Amo tossed in 16 points, and Logan Allen hit three three-pointers in a
14 point effort to lead the Demons. Connor Whitton added 10 points with a
three while Chris Wentzel worked the paint for eight points.
Taylor Kenyon exploded for a season high 28 points including four three¹s
for Hammond. Griff Stark Ennis added 10 while Ian Mann chipped in seven.

 Four players reached double figures in a
balanced effort for the Flyers over the Bears. Adam Stone hit four three¹s
in a 18 point performance. Pat Durant generated 11 followed by 10 points
each from Jared Pollack and Jesse Williams.
Nate Christy scored six points to pace Canton.

 In another contest between Central League power
Potsdam and indepentent Tupper Lake, Jon Coleman fired through 27 points and
Zach Adams and Chris Whispell added 12 each to lead the Stoners.
Jacob Klossner scored 14 points for Tupper Lake. Hayden LaMere added eight.

Cody Kilcoyne exploded for 26
points to lead the Larries who erased a 10-9 first quarter deficit with a
19-6 second quarter run. Rylan Patraw added nine more while Brian LaBier
chipped in eight.
Eric Zellweger tallied 15 points for P-H. Nick Avery and Trevor Zellweger
scored nine apiece.

MW 60 B-M 52 

Madrid-Waddington picked up a very big road win on Monday evening
in the Northern Athletic Conference East League action downing rival
Brushton-Moira to improve to 4-1 (league), 5-2 overall.
³We played a very good game as a team and shot the ball extremely well. Alex
Brock just played excellent and Zach Marcellus did a nice job against Josh
Sevey making him earn his points. Our goal was to keep him at his average
and not let him take over the game. As a team we did a good job with that
and Colin O¹Bryan also did a nice job with help defense. This was a good win
for us. Our post players did very well,² said M-W Coach Aaron Jones.
Jordan Kendall generated 16 points including two three¹s for M-W. He also
contributed five assists and one steal. Alex Brock followed with a double
double including 15 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and three assists.
Quinn Shoen added 12 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks in a double-double
performance. Colin O¹Bryan had a nice floor game with five rebounds, four
assists, two steals and three points. Zach Marcellus chipped in 10 points
keyed by two boards.
Josh Sevey paced B-M with 19 points. Jon Green added 11 points.
In the Junior Varsity game, Madrid-Waddington fell 49-32 to Brushton-Moira.
Matt Kendallo scored 19 points for M-W. Ken Johnson and Greg Thompson each
added four.

HEUVELTON 50 NN 31 

Following up a Cindy Brady Tournament Championship victory over
Tupper Lake, the Heuvelton Varsity Girls Basketball team earned another win
over a Class C opponent in Norwood-Norfolk 50-31 on Monday in inter-league
play.
³Kari Terwilliger and Emilie Ross stepped up tonight and played very well.
We need both of them to play like they have in the second half of the
season,² said HCS Coach Rob Powers.
The Bulldogs broke open the contest in the second and third quarters after
leading 9-5 after the first. Heuvelton went on a 12-6 second quarter run and
Kara Leonard delivered all six of her points in the third quarter where
Heuvelton expanded a 21-11 lead to 38-21.
Ross finished with a team high 11 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Terwilliger added 10 points and five rebounds while Leonard added six points
and four blocked shots. Sara Sloan, Kristi Pike and Cheyenne Martin (four
assists, two rebounds) each scored five while Sam Weaver (four reboounds,
five assists) and Alyssa Rupert (five rebounds) each scored four points.
Emily Cotey scored 11 points and Brynn Tebo added nine points for N-N.
In the Junior Varsity contest, Heuvelton won 39-20 over Norwood-Norfolk.
Ashlyn Pierce generated 11 points including three three¹s and posted two
blocked shots to lead the Bulldogs. Jen Couglar added nine points, eight
rebounds, and four steals. Maddie St. Pierre chipped in eight points, six
rebounds and three blocked shots.  Aliza Armstrong (three steals, two
rebounds), Alexis Weidner (six steals) and Shicara Legault (two rebounds,
two points), and Abby Basford (one steal), one point) also contributed.
Mikenzie Jock and Azlynne Williams each scored five points for N-N. Ashley
Donovan, Ashley LaFleur, Carlea Weaver, Alexis Sweet and Morgan Langtry each
scored two.
