POTSDAM PROTECTS HOME HARDWOOD

BOYS BASKETBALL:

Potsdam 64, Massena 53:

Breaking free from a 14-13 lead after the first
quarter with a 18-8 second quarter run, the Stoners stayed unbeaten in the
Central League keyed by balanced scoring. Zach Adams finished with 15 points
on six for seven shooting and grabbed six rebounds and collected two assists
to lead the Stoners. Jon Coleman (four assists, two rebounds, 6-9 field) and
Chris Whispell (nine rebounds, four assists, 6-11 field) each logged 13
points while Josh Adams (6-9 field, six rebounds) added 12 points. Scott
Bartenstein scored 11 points more for Potsdam to compliment four rebouns and
three assists.
For Massena, Taylor Elsner (6-8 field) scored 15 points and posted six
rebounds while Brady Condlin hit two three¹s in a 12 point, six rebound,
four assists and three steal performance. Troy Myers (nine points, three
rebounds, four assists), Trevor Bacon (eight points, seven rebounds) and  JP
Dumas (seven points, four assists, two steals) also contributed to the
Raider effort.

The Devils ran out of gas in the second half where
Lisbon took control with a 25-12 run after erasing a 16-14 first quarter
deficit with a 16-5 run in the second quarter.
Scott Lawton used a solid shooting performance to score 18 points for
Lisbon. Eric Mehaffy added 11 followed by Josh Crawford and Ryan Akins with
eight.
Griff Stark Ennis scored 16 for Hammond. Ian Mann added nine.

HARRISVILLE 61 MORRISTOWN 41

The Pirates won the second half 30-16 to
defeat the host Rockets. Alec Weir tallied 22 points and Jason Thomas
generated 19 points to pace Harrisville who broke free from a 32-25 halftime
lead in NAC West League play. Colin Baker tossed in two threes for eight
while Gavin Kiggins added seven.
Colin Learn scored 22 points and posted five rebounds for Morristown. Jeff
King added seven while Josh Youngs scored six.
In junior varsity action, Morristown had a chance to tie but couldn¹t
convert in a 40-38 setback. Geoff Baldwin and DaKota Marshall each scored 10
while Brandon Aldrich added nine for Morristown. Wayne Best paced
Harrisville with 18.

HEUVELTON 69 E-K 67 IN OT

Trevor Brothers¹ 16-footer jumper with 2.8 seconds
to play in overtime lifted the Bulldogs past the Cougars who scored 32
points in the fourth quarter and erased a seven-point deficit in the final
53 seconds. Ben Fuller led the rally scoring 13 of his 19 points and Jon
Davison, who scored a game-high 22 points, buried a three-pointer with 2.5
seconds to play to send the contest into overtime.
Brothers, who struck for nine points in the second quarter, led the winners
with 18 points and Andy Ross followed 14.
Brothers connected for the game-winner after E-K¹s Dave Bullock finished off
a 14-point, 11-rebound, six-steal effort with two free throws with 29.6
seconds to play.

GOUVERNEUR 53 CANTON 40

The visiting Wildcats held off a Bears¹ fourth
quarter comeback as Marco Carbone scored 18 with two three¹s and Storm
Blackburn generated 11 with three-pointers to lead Gouverneur in a Central
League contest.
Tyler Thomas scored 12 points for the Bears.

Ian Henderson scored 14 and Alex Lamica added 10 to
pace the Bulldogs over the Panthers in East League play where Chateaugay
took a 30-0 first quarter lead. Titus Hammel scored 12 for P-H.

MW 51 C-P 33 

The Madrid-Waddington Boys Basketball team rebounded from a lost to
St. Lawrence Central with a 51-33 victory over Colton-Pierrepont in NAC East
League play on Thursday.
The Yellowjackets (2-1) received scoring from nine players led by Quinn
Shoen¹s 11 points and seven points each from Alex Brock and Jordan Kendall.
Zach Marcellus and Brandon Perrine each logged six points for the Jackets
who sealed the with with a 15-5 fourth quarter.
Mike Reilly scored 11 points for C-P. Gavin Dominy added eight.
In the junior varsity, Madrid Waddington won 51-41 paced by Matt Kendall¹s
25 points and  Cody Pierce and Ken Johnson eight points each.

GIRLS BASKETBALL:

H-D 54 LISBON 36

 A 21-6 first quarter advantage sparked the Hermon-DeKalb Girls
Basketball team past Lisbon 54-36 on Thursday evening in Northern Athletic
Conference West League play.
Brianna Sayer generated 16 points keyed by seven for 11 free throw shooting
to pace the Demons. She also collected six boards, five steals and three
assists. Kelly Williams followed with 13 points and five rebounds. Kaylee
O¹Donnell chipped in 10 points (six for 10 free throws), four rebounds,
three steals and six assists. Rochelle Whitton added nine points, nine
steals, seven assists and pulled down a board.
Other Demons contributions came from: Angelica Scales (four points, four
rebounds, and three assists), Francesca Trembley (two points, four rebounds,
six steals).
Jaclyn Moore worked the inside scoring a game high 22 points for Lisbon.
Hermon-DeKalb 48, Lisbon 27: Jocelyn Moulton tallied 16 points and Chelsea
Streeter added eight more for the Demons who built a 23-11 first half lead
and never looked back. Other contributions came from:  Paige Morrill (4
points), Clarisa Davis (6 points), Kelsey Cleveland (2 points),  Courtney
White (5 points), Amber Bogart (4 points),  Thanisha Scales (1 point ) and
Margo Barney (2 points).
Beth Crowley scored eight points and posted two boards and a blocked shot
for Lisbon. Jackie Sovie added five points, five rebounds, two steals, one
assist and one blocked shot while Gabby Walker chipped in five points, six
steals, one rebound and one assist.
Other Lisbon highlights came from: Chrissy Wilson (one point, one rebounds,
one assist, one blocked shot), Nicole Dimock (three points), Colleen Hammond
(two points, three renounds, two steals), Emily Dishaw (three points, one
rebounds), and Jackie Cooke (seven rebounds, one assist_.
