99 NEWS FOR THURSDAY, 12/10/09....HIGH WIND AND LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORIES IN EFFECT RECORD PRECIPITATION WEIGHS HEAVILY ON POWER LINES AND LIMBS--A total liquid equivalent of 1.39 inches fell yesterday, breaking the record of 1.27 inches set in 1970, according to certified military weather observer Rick O'Hanlon. Combined snow, freezing rain, and sleet has brought down numerous power lines. As of this update 12-hundred customers of National Grid are without electricity. Road conditions are less than ideal today in many parts of the county; there are some school closures and delays. A HIGH WIND GUST OF 85.3 MILES AN HOUR WAS RECORDED ON SOBER STREET IN NORFOLK DURING THE 7 O'CLOCK HOUR THIS MORNING.
