GUN INCIDENT IN LAWRENCE BRINGS CRIMINAL CHARGES--State Police in Massena say 42-year-old Randy Roach of County Route 54 was arrested Monday after an alatercation at his residence. Roach allegedly pointed a shotgun at Troopers arriving on the scene, lowering it when a Trooper reached for his sidearm. Roach was charged with felony counts of menacing a police officer and third degree criminal possession of a weapon; and a lesser count of resisting arrest. Roach was arraigned and released to probation supervision until future court dates.
GILLIBRAND:EMPLOYMENT TAX CREDIT GENERATES 2 DOLLARS FOR EVERY DOLLAR INVESTED--US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand unveiled a proposed tax credit plan for employers who add workers or add hours to existing employment. The credit would be 15 percent of expanded total payroll in 2010, and 10 percent in 2011 if approved. Gillibrand says the 2:1 positive economic factor would be in the second year of the program.
TEEN ACCUSED OF ATTACKING POTSDAM POLICE OFFICER--The Courier-Observer says a 15-year-old boy who left AA Kingston Middle School without permission allegedly fought with a police officer who found the boy off-campus. Charges have not yet been filed; no names have yet been released.
