POTSDAM TOWN HALL ROOF HEAVILY TARRED TO KEEP VANDALS OUT--Town Supervisor Marie Regan said Tuesday Highway Department crews used at least 10 pails full of tar as a way to keep intruders off the Town Hall roof. Skateboarders ground holes in the roof in late October, causing thousands of dollars in damage and destroying furniture, equipment, and documents when the Town Court office was flooded with rain water.
COCAINE, WEAPONS, CASH SEIZED IN MASSENA RAID--Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Reed Drive Thursday, seizing about an ounce of cocaine, about 5-thousand dollars cash, and two loaded guns. Arrested were 27-year-old Melanie Spoon, 21-year-old Terry Mc.Gregor; both on felony charges; and Theresa Dissottelle was charged with a marijuana violation. Spoon and Mc.Gregor were arraigned and jailed; Dissottelle was released to appear in court at a later date.
