AUBERTINE: DAIRY FARMERS GAIN $1-$2 PER HUNDRED IF BILL PASSES--Darrel Aubertine, local State Senator and Ag Committee Chairman says a bill he has introduced and sponsored would set a mark where milk ownership begins and ends, that would lay the cost of hauling the farmer's product on the recipient. The bill is currently in committee.
SIX INJURED IN MORRISTOWN CRASH, DRIVER ARRESTED--Sheriff's Deputies arrested 18-year-old Angel Carter of Morristown on counts of DWI and other charges after a rollover crash on Route 37 early Sunday morning. All five passengers and Careter were hurt; injuries were not life-threatening. The investigation continues.
MOIRA BLAZE INVESTIGATED--State Police are looking into a fire that destroyed an abandoned house on Franklin County Route 6 Saturday night. The property is owned by George Iodan of Moira; nobody was hurt. The house was deemed 'abandoned,' with no electricity to the structure past a breaker-box.
BROTHERS ARRESTED FOR WADDINGTON VILLAGE BARN METAL THEFTS--Sheriff's Investigators charged 29-year-old Corey Deshane and 25-year-old Jeremiah Deshane on felony counts of Burglary, Grand Larceny, and Criminal Mischief, alleging they broke into the buildings this past August, making off with water meters, copper and other metal they allegedly sold to scrap dealers. Both men were arraigned in Canton; Corey Deshane was jailed without bail; Jeremiah Deshane was jailed on 5-thousand dollars bail.
OGDENSBURG MAN FAKES IDENTITY; JAILED--30-year-old Marc Morley of Ogdensburg was arrested over the weekend after a traffic stop on the Black Lake Road in Morristown, during which he allegedly identified himself as his brother. Morley was charged with Criminal Impersonation and traffic counts, arraigned and jailed on 25-hundred dollars bail.
