Polls opened at 6am; by the time our tipster voted about a half an hour later a hundred people had voted. No doubt the 23rd Congressional District race is the main reason for the business. Conservative Doyg Hoffman and Democrat Bill owens are in a statistical dead heat...the number of undecideds doubled when DeDe Scozzafava bailed out of the race and endorsed Owens. CANTON TEEN CHARGED WITH SEX CRIME--Deputies say 18-year-old Jordan Serviss allegedly had relations and deviate relations with a 15-year-old girl at his home on Brewer Road. Serviss was charged with sexual misconduct and endangering the welfare, arraigned Monday and released on court tickets. MORE SWINE FLU VACCINE ARRIVES; CLINIC TO BE HELD--The St.lawrence County Public Health Department will have an H1N1 shot clinic Thursday from 10am-4pm at the Human Services Building, State Route 310 in Canton. GRAND JURY TO GET CANTON ROBBERY CASE--Canton Village Justice William Mc.Ginn ruled Monday the case of 17-year-old Tristan Perry will go to the county Grand Jury. The Watertown Daily Times reports Perry remains jailed on bail, facing felony counts of first and second degree robbery alleging his role in an October 15th incident where a 16-year-old boy was robbed of marijuana at knifepoint. Perry's alleged co-defendant, 16-year-old Tegan King is under probation supervision on the same charges; Perry faces an additional misdemeanor menacing charge. A STRANGE CASE IN DOWNTOWN POTSDAM--A bizzare incident in downtown Potsdam early Monday morning. Village police arrested 24-year-old Jaime Pollard on a total of six counts…two counts of trespassing, and single counts of public lewdness, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and criminal tampering. Pollard was reportedly standing on the roof of a downtown building touching himself in a sexual manner in front of an apartment window. Police arrived to find Pollard lying on top of the Potsdam Town Office building, in the nude with a laceration to his face. The injury was allegedly the result of an altercation between Pollard and the apartment dweller. Pollard was transported by the Potsdam Rescue Squad to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where he allegedly became disorderly and tried to damage hospital equipment. Pollard was arraigned and jailed on 500 dollars cash bail or 1-thousand dollars bail bond. The apartment dweller who allegedly went after Pollard, 19-year-old Scott Wilson was charged with two counts of trespassing, second degree attempted assault, and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17. Wilson allegedly struck Pollard in the head and face. The incident occurred in the presence of a 15-year-old girl. Wilson was arraigned and jailed in lieu of a thousand dollars cash bail, 2-thousand dollars bail bond. . OBITUARIES: Myrtle Parkinson--79--Massena; former Winthrop resident.
