POTSDAM TOWN COUNCIL CANDIDATES SPAR ON PROPERTY TAXES-ASSESSMENTS--Council members Judy Rich and Mike Zagrobelny are fighting to keep their seats with three challengers...Dan Parker, Tracy Haggett-Sloan, and Oliver Mackey. The candidates took a question about taxes and assessments last night in a candidate forum. The Town of Potsdam Taxpayers' Association organized the event.
CAR-DUMP TRUCK COLLISION IN LAWRENCE--Massena-based State Police say the dump truck on 11 heading toward Potsdam was struck by a vehicle on 11C traveling through the red light, driven by 19-year-old Morgan Mayette of Potsdam. The crash occurred about 4:30pm Wednesday. Mayette was injured and ticketed; the dump truck driver 55-year-old Michael Hollinger of Potsdam was unhurt and not ticketed. The Mayette vehicle was totaled. The intersection is noted for many accidents.
SKATEBOARDERS DAMAGE POTSDAM TOWN HALL--Office workers found holes in the roof and a skateboard; the Court Clerk's office was found rain-soaked Wednesday morning and had to be closed. The town is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect-suspects.
