PATERSON TO BRING BUCKS FOR PIPELINE PROJECT--Governor David Paterson is expected to announce funding for the St.Lawrence Gas pipeline expansion project this afternoon in Malone. The Governor is the keynote speaker for the St.Lawrence County Democratic Party dinner tonight at SUNY Canton.
LOCAL TEEN KILLED BY FRANKLIN COUNTY ATV ACCIDENT--15-year-old Kyle Cootware of North Lawrence received fatal injuries when he attempted a motorcross jump at Martin's Motorcross Park in Moira Sunday. Cootware was airlifted from Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone to Flercher-Allen Health Care in Burlington, VT where he died. State Police continue to investigate.
ALCOA AGAIN PROFITABLE, ON THE REBOUND--Print media reports say the aluminum giant posted 73 million dollars in net income in the third quarter of this year, far from last year's figure but a sign the company is back on track according to CEO Klaus Kleinfeld. The slowdown of the aluminum industry earlier this year resulted in part of the Massena operation being shut down until conditions improve.
