SIX COUNTS, INCLUDING DWI FOR MASSENA MAN STOPPED IN POTSDAM--Village Police pulled over 21-year-old Brent Villnave early Thursday morning after he allegedly made an illegal U-turn. He was found to allegedly be drunk with a BAC of .10%, and to possess an expired driver's license. Villnave also allegedly identified himself as someone else several times. Villnave was issued numerous tickets to appear in Potsdam Village Court later this month.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT PATIENTS WILL NOT USE SCHOOL FACILITIES--Canton-Potsdam Hospital recently informed the Potsdam Central School District it would no longer allow its rehab clients use the walking trail and other facilities. Activists Richard and Jane Hollister blew the whistle on the practice as a liability issue. School Superintendent Pat Brady told us research by legal counsel found the argument to be legit.

NOTED FELON, FACING PAROLE VIOLATION, HAS CHARGES ADDED--39-year-old Gerald Dissottle of Winthrop, caught recently hiding in a Massena apartment in alleged possession of a cocaine scale and a billy club, has been additionallty charged for those items, on top of a state parole violation for which he was sought. Dissottle has a rap sheet with 24 priors, 12 of them felonies.

SLUDGE-TO-FUEL PROJECT FUNDED FOR OGDENSBURG BY MILLION-DOLLAR GRANT--State-distributed simulus funds will pay for the energy project at the city's wastewater treatment facility. 43 million dollars in grants was announced yesterday for ten projects statewide.
