99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR MONDAY, 9/14/09 WANTED FELON WITH LONG RAP SHEET PICKED UP IN MASSENA--Village Police say 39-year-old Gerald Disottle, wanted for violating his parole from state prison, was spotted allegedly entering the residence at 40 Willow St. Sunday afternoon. Police searched the residence and found Disottle allegedly hiding under a sofa. He allegedly possessed a cocaine scale and a weapon, which he is not allowed to have as a convicted felon. Disottle was jailed until future court dates. Police say Disottle has 24 previous criminal arrests, 12 of then felonies. FATAL CRASH-NORWOOD--Sheriff's deputies say 25-year-old Kevin Whalen of County Route 48 lost control of a car on a curve on River Road about 4:45 Sunday morning. The car traveled off the road and struck several trees; Whalen was ejected. He was declared dead at the scene by County Coroner June Wood. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors. BRASHER DRUG BUST NETS THREE ARRESTS--State Police and Forest Rangers executed a search warrant at 65 McCuin Road in Brasher September 5th, seizing four pounds of pot, 20 codeine tablets, chukka sticks, and drug paraphernalia. Arrested were 48-year-old James Pearce, 40-year-oold Michelle Jandreau, and 17-year-old Frederick Jandreau. All were released on court appearance tickets with no bail. The arrests were made Friday. no obituaries today
