CANTON VEHICLE MISHAP INVESTIGATED--Village Police told us a man was working underneath a vehicle on the property behind Family Dollar and Wight and Patterson Feed at Main and Miner Streets about 8:40 last night when the jack that held up the vehicle kicked out; the vehicle fell on top of him. He was transported by Canton Rescue. No further details, including the victim's name and address were immediately available.

FORMER HAMMOND MAN PERISHES IN OHIO JAIL--WWTI-Newswatch 50 in Watertown says according to the Toledo Blade 44-year-old Ricki Kelly, convicted in June of numerous counts including felony burglary stabbed himself with a pencil at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio. He was last listed as homless.

70 MILLION DOLLARS, MAYBE MORE NEEDED TO HELP DAIRY FARMERS--Assemblyman Clifford Crouch, ranking Republican on the State Assembly Agriculture Committee, says money from the federal stimulus package is needed to help struggling dairy farmers with milk prices lower than expected. The current prices, with hauling costs factored in is about 9 dollars per hundredweight.
