SEX CHARGES FOR ST.LAWRENCE COUNTY MAN-- A St. Lawrence County man is facing sex charges in Oswego County. David A. Jones, 40, 222 County Route 36, Chase Mills, is charged with Criminal Sex Act, a Felony and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare od a child. Jones was arrested in Alexandria Bay on a warrant issued by the Town of Hannibal Court. Jones was arraigned in Hannibal Court and remanded to Oswego County jail with bail set at $5,000 and is scheduled to reappear in court on October 6th.

SCHOOL SUPPLY HELP-- The Church & Community Progam's School Supply Project will be distributing supplies and accepting applications through Thursday, September 10th. Children in low-income families in Canton, town/village of Hermon, Clare, Russell, town of DeKalb & Rensselaer Falls are eligible. Application are not accepted by mail, to contact them call 386.3534 or stop in at 95 Main St. on the third floor.

DOMESTIC INCIDENT-- St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies investigates a Domestic Incident in the Village of Gouverneur yesterday which resulted in the arrest of Blake C. Rogers, 20, 154 Hailesboro St. Gouverneur, on 2 counts of Menacing, 1 count of Cirminal Possession of a weapon in the 4th Degree and 1 count of Harassment. He was arraigned in Town of Gouverneur Court and ordered held in the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $500.00 cash bail. Rogers is set to reappear in Gouverner Town/Village Court at a later date.

KITTEN HELP-- The Potsdam Police Department is investigating a report received on Friday, August 21st about a kitten being thrown from a moving red car on Elm Street in the Village. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Police at 265.2121 as soon as possible. A reward is offered for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible.

WEAPONS CHARGE-- New York State Police charged Kory L. Gates, 21, with assault with intent to cause disfigurement, a Felony, and 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a weapon with intent to use, a misdemeanor. The charges were in connections with an incident reported to Police on Friday, August 21st. Gates was jailed in leiu of $10,000 cash bail.

SCOZZAFAVA READYS FOR RUN-- Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava is gearing up for the yet-to-be announced special election to replace Rep. John McHugh by naming her campaign coordinaters for St. Lawrence County. She tapped County Clerk Patricia Ritchie and longtime Ogdensburg School District Superintendent Wes Stitt.

HUNTING NEWS-- Good news for waterfowl hunters in the North Country as you'll be able to enjoy an easing of restriction this year during the hunting season at the Wilson Hill Wildlife Management Area following 2 years of limited access. For all rhe upcoming waterfowl seasons the area will be open to hunting on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays & Sundays. An early Goose season opens September 1st with duck and migrant geese hunting coming up in October & November
