INDEPENDENCE PARTY LEADER SAYS PROGNISTICATION FOR DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL PICK TOUGH--Jeffrey Graham of Watertown told 99 News last week he would not be surprised to see former Oswego Mayor John Sullivan chosen by the Dems to run for the seat that appears to be set for vacancy by John Mc.Hugh soon. However, he doesn't think Sullivan can win. Blue-staters are expected to make their choice August 10th; there are 12 candidates to pick from.

MAN TRIES TO GET IN SHOWER WITH WOMAN, BURGLARY CHARGE FILED--Norwood Village Police arrested 29-year-old Martin Johnson of Hannawa Falls recently on a count of Felony Second Degree Burglary, alleging he entered a woman's residence while she was in the shower, and harassed her. Johnson was arraigned before Potsdam Town Justice James Mason and released to probation supervision until future court dates.

DISPUTE WITH RIFLES IN WINTHROP, TWO ARRESTS MADE--State Police say 22-year-old Nicholas Snyder and 20-year-old Derrick Gale allegedly got into an argument where both drew rifles..Snyder pointing his at Gale, with Gale reportedly returning the favor in self-defense. Troopers broke up the melee at gunpoint. Snyder was more seriously charged and jailed on a thousand dollars bail; Gale was released on court appearance tickets.
