MOHAWK SINGER TELLS SEAWAY GATHERING "PLAN SEVEN GENERATIONS AHEAD"--Theresa "Bear" Fox told the more than 400 people on hand for the 50th Anniversary of the St.Lawrence Seaway last week she was the only member of the Akwesasne Women's Singers to show up for the event because the rest of the group was having a hard time with the past, the flooding of Mohawk lands by the formation of Lake St.Lawrence in 1958. Fox said her heart pulled her to come as a sign of peace. She says developers of the shipping channel should plan well into the future to ensure the environment and the people are "taken care of".
