MASSENA TOWN SUPERVISOR PROPOSES TOWN HOST CANADIAN CUSTOMS TIL BRIDGE DISPUTE ENDS--Gary Edwards told Johnson newspapers yesterday he has floated the idea of Canadian Customs being on US soil, as a way to ease the tension between Customs and Native Americans opposed to the officers being armed. Talks fizzled earlier this week on settling the dispute that has closed the Massena-Cornwall bridge since early June.

FLASHLIGHT THEFT BRINGS NUMEROUS COUNTS FOR MASSENA MAN--Village Police say they were called to Wal-Mart on Route 37 early Thursday morning to arrest 21-year-old David Clark. Clark was released to probation until future court dates. He was charged with petit larceny, conspiracy, and acting in a manner injurious to a child under 17.
