99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR 6/30/09 GRIFFO:PATERSON BLEW MAJOR OPPORTUNITY--Republican State Senator Joe Griffo told 99 News Monday Governor David Paterson had a chance to play on his strength, his ability to be congenial and get both sides in the Senate deadlock to work together, but he did not Sunday in a special session. The parties gaveled in and out separately. Paterson obtained a State Supreme Court ruling in his favor demanding the two sides meet together today. BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED AT JAIL--State Police in Canton say 31-year-old Caleb Rayburn of Ogdensburg allegedly stole items from a single-family home in Canton. He was already in the lockup on other, unrelated charges and will be arraigned on the new allegation at a later time. BENDER LOSES PISTOL PERMIT--Karl Bender of Ogdensburg, the former St.Lawrence County Deputy Highway Superintendent, had his pistol permit revoked for two years Monday by Judge Jerome Richards according to a Courier-Observer report.
