99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR FRIDAY, 6/26/09

MASSENA RAPE SUSPECT RELEASED--19-year-old Justin Mendies, charged with two felony rape counts alleging relations with an underage girl, was released from jail this week. The Courier-Observer says Mendies had to be let go, as prosecutors declined to go ahead with a preliminary felony hearing.

WEST STOCKHOLM SEX OFFENDER CHARGED WITH FURTHER SEX CRMES--St.Lawrence County Sheriff's Detectives say 25-year-old Timothy Mc.Gregor, on parole for sex crimes and a Level 1 on the state registry, allegedly grabbed a child recently in an intimate location. He was charged with several misdemeanors, arraigned and jailed on 5-thousand dollars cash bail or 10-thousand dollars bail bond.

MASSENA HOUSE FIRE INVESTIGATION BRINGS FOUR MARIJUANA ARRESTS--Village Police charged 50-year-old Brenda Terrance, 42-year-old Jamie Terrance, 18-year-old Corbey Terrance, and 30-year-old Shane Caskinett with unlawful possession counts early Thursday morning. The arrests stem from their investigation of the fire at 7 Winters Street (see yesterday's headlines). All four residents of 7 Winters were released on court tickets.

ALLEGED MASSENA PERV ARESTED--Village Police arrested 51-year-old John Terrance of Willow Street Thursday after he allegedly drove up to two girls under the age of 12, asking them to get in his car so he could have sexual relations with them. Terrance was charged with 'Acting in a Manner to Injure a Child Less than 17.' He was arraigned and released to probation supervision.
