Larue was picked up in Norwood on a warrant, arraigned on a count of third degree attempted assault, and sent to the county on 500 dollars cash bail or 1000 dollars bond. HOFFMAN CANDIDATE FOR CONGRESS, GRIFFO NOT--Doug Hoffman, a CPA from Malone made a campaign tour of the 23rd District yesterday announcing his candidacy for the GOP nod to run for the seat now held by John Mc.Hugh. No members of the public showed up for the stop in Canton except for 99 News. Local State Senator Joe Griffo has announced he will not seek the GOP nomination for Congress, opting to work on reform in Albany. FELONY SEX CRIME CHARGE IN MASSENA--19-year-old Justin Mendies of Stoughton Ave. in Massena was arrested yesterday by Village Police on a count of Third Degree Rape and a misdemeanor count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, alleging relations with a 15-year-old girl and taking digital photos of the girl in compromising poses.
