After a year hiatus, the Flyers are back in the New York State Tournament with a shut out win over the Panthers.
N-N would slip into the lead slowly and then explode for three in the third and four more in the fourth. SUBWAY SUB THE GAME Seth Clark singled in Kirk Colbert in the first and Colbert knocked home Bryan Duval with a gournd out in the second.
The Flyers took advantage of six Panther errors as it set the table in third for Clark's RBI single and Mike Carbone's two run double that made it 5-0 after three. More than enough for PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Adam Stone who went the distance in a five hitter striking out seven. The Panthers left a runner in scoring position in the third and left the bases loaded in the seventh as Stone forced a popout to end the game.
Kirk Colbert and Pat Durant scored twice as Clarkson and Carbone each had two hits. For the Panthers, Cody O'Connor doubled and John Green struck out two in allowing two runs on one hit in three innings of relief for Justin Supoernault, who was awarded after the game the Jim Pinkerton Award.

PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Heather Johnson stikes out 17 batters and goes 3 for 3 at bat to lift Huevelton into the NYS Quarterfinals. SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME Megan Johnson scored the game winning run on a passed ball she scored twice and drove in three runs in the game.
Heuvelton scored three in the second and four more in sixth as Megan Johnson produced a two run single in the second and Katie Nicholson double in two runs in the sixth. Chelsea Bice also had two hits and two runs scored.
For Hammond, Jessica Meashaw struck out seven and Tricia Boland was credited for two singles.
