99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR WEDNESDAY, 6/3/09 SEVERE CHILD ABUSE CASE IN BOMBAY--State Police in Malone say 24-year-old David Lavertue of Route 95 allegedly shook his infant son in anger on two occasions, causing serious brain injury. Lavertue was charged with Felony Reckless Assault of a Child, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, which is a misdemeanor. Lavertue was arraigned and jailed Tuesday until a hearing in Town Court. SERIOUS INJURIES FROM HEAD-ON COLLISION NEAR OGDENSBURG--Sheriff's Deputies say 56-year-old Christine Becker of Ogdensburg received severe trauma to both legs in a collision on Route 37 between her vehicle and a second auto, driven by 24-year-old Lindsay Larivere of Ogdensburg. Deputies say the Larivere vehicle crossed the center line. Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles for a time. Becker was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. Larivere was ticketed for AUO 3rd and Failure to keep Right. RETIRED C-O MUST PAY BACK HEALTH INSURANCE FOR EX-WIFE--63-year-old Bernard Debien, Jr. pled guilty in St.Lawrence County Court this week to a count of insurance fraud, admitting to putting his ex-wife on his County Corrections employee health insurance after their divorce was final. She died after about two years; she received about 90-thousand dollars in benefits. Debien has reportedly paid back more than half the sum already; payments were ordered. He will serve no jail time.
