Potsdam starts scoring late but holds off the Shamrocks to return to the Class B Baseball Final.
After leaving five base runners in the first two innings, the Stoners finally scored on an attempted double steal as a throw from the Samon River catcher to the short stop went into center field scoring Chris Reece from third. Then David Smith tripled in a second run to give Potsdam a 2-0 lead.
Potsdam broke the game open with a two riun double by SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME Seth Hinman scoring Ryan Arno and PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME John Coleman. Reece added a RBI single and scored on a Todd Sharlow gournd out to short.
Reece tacked on one more RBI hit in the fifth as Coleman went the distance striking out nine. Coleman also doubled and scored twice. Reece had three hits, doubled, drove in two runs, and scored twice.
For the Shamrocks, Nick Fleury and Jon Bigness doubled while Alex Otis came on to pitch two innings of relief for Nick Fleury, striking out three. Potsdam next faces OFA in the Class B Final on Wednesday.
