Potsdam Lacrosse Advance To Class C Final, N-N Baseball Claims Share Of Central With Sweep Of Canton |

A see-saw semi-final saw the upset minded Golden Bers take a lead only to see Potsdam storm back to advance to Friday's championship.
Potsdam ran out to a 7-4 halftime lead as PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Greg Burkum and Pete Tardelli scored 1:16 apart late in the first half to give either team their first three gioal lead of the night in a tight first half. SUBWAY SUB OFTHE GAME Tanner Pratt scored two of his team high four goals of the game in the first half for Canton.
The Golden Bears came out in third and dominated with faceoff wins and possession time as they scored six straight including Zack Kenny's go ahead goal two minutes into the third as scored four goals in two minutes to gain an 8-7 lead. Down 10-7 halfway through the third, Potsdam trumped Canton's rally with seven in a row as it extended into the fourth where Brukum gave the Stoners the lead with 9:35 to go in the game. Burkham finshed his five goal night with five minutes to go as that tally gave the Stoners a 13-10 lead.
Jordan LaPoint tied the game and scored on the man up scoring four times to earn ANGLEO'S SEAFOOD SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE GAME. Taylor Caswell produced two goals and five helpers while Tim Leuthauser dished out four assists. Joe DuTullio stopped 13 between the pipes. Canton's Erik Howard handled 11 shots.

Norwood-Norfolk sweeps Canton in a doubleheader to clinch a piece of the Central Divison title with OFA.
The Flyers stroked four singles and scored two runs in the first as Pat Durant and Seth Clark each drove in runs. N-N paced thier way with two in the third, three in the fourth, and one more in the fifth. PEPSI PLAYER OF THE GAME Adam Stone pitcha complete game effort striking out seven in five innings scattering two hits. He aslo singled twice and scored three times. Matt Bressett scored twice as did Durant in the win.
Sumner Pierece sacrificed in a run in the fifth to earn SUBWAY SUB OF THE GAME.
For Canton Colby Young singled in a run in the fifth and Rob Dargie walked and scored. .

STOCKWELL LEAVING CLARKSON TO HEAD UP OSWEGO
The Adam Stockwell era in Men's Basketball has ended at Clarkson as Stockwell accepts a position as the new Men's Head basketball Coach at SUNY Oswego. Stockwell coached the Green and Gold for five seasons guiding Clarkson to thier first ever NCAA Tournament appearence in school history in 2008. This past season Clarkson reached the Liberty League Tournament for the third consecutive year falling in the first round to St. Lawrence.
MCKENNA TO HELP TEAM USA IN 2010 WINTER GAMES
Jodi McKenna, a former St. Lawrence University assistant and current head coach at Wesleyan University, has been added to the 2010 U.S. Olympic women’s hockey team’s coaching staff. McKenna, who helped guide the Saints for nine seasons, joins Mark Johnson and Dave Flint on the bench for the Olympic Games in Vancouver. McKenna, who was also an assistant coach for the U.S. at the 2009 IIHF World Women’s Championship, recently finished her second season as the head coach at Wesleyan after her nine-year stint in Canton, NY. In her tenure at St. Lawrence, she helped the Saints qualify for the NCAA Tournament five times, making it to the Frozen four on each occasion and playing in the 2001 national championship game. A 1998 graduate of Brown University, McKenna played four seasons for the Bears and helped the team capture an ECAC regular-season or tournament title three times. She has been involved with USA Hockey Player Development Camps and was an assistant coach at USA Hockey’s Women’s Under-22 Camp last summer and at the USA Hockey Women’s Holiday Camp in December. This summer, she will serve as the on-ice direct for the USA Hockey Girls’ Select 14 Player Development Camp
