CRAWFORD HIRING, ANOTHER SETTING UP SHOP--Potsdam Planning and Development Director Fred Hanss told Trustees Monday the Canadian company that specializes in software that handles e-mail storage and the like for larger clients is in the process of screening qualified job candidates through the county one-stop career center and Penski. Hanss says another, as-yet unnamed business from Canada has a US representative working in Potsdam while the owner works out visa issues to work and do business in the US.

PIERREPONT WOMAN STEALS CASH FROM GRANDPARENTS--Sheriff's Detectives say 22-year-old Amber Aldous of Plains Road in Pierrepont was arrested yesterday on a count of fourth degree grand larceny, alleging she swiped over 15-hundred dollars from her grandparent's safe. She reportedly told the grandparents the residence was burglarized, which started the investigation. Aldous was released on a town court appearance ticket.

CEMETERY VANDALISM ALLEGED, EDWARDS TEEN ARRESTED--Sheriff's deputies say 18-year-old Bradley Phillips of Island Street allegedly damaged grave markers at Riverside Cemetery in Edwards. He was charged with felony cemetery desecration and jailed; he was then released on court order until a future date.

MANNING: RAID 'ONE GREAT BIG MISTAKE'--Richard Manning of Parishville, the attorney retained by the family of Dr. Michael Tulloch of Schoolhouse Road in Canton, made that comment Wednesday in response to a search of the residence the day before by the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force and other agencies. The search was reportedly for weapons; computer hard drives were seized. Tulloch's son was reportedly the target of the action; out of which no arrests were made Tuesday.
