'ROOS HOUSE' TO OPEN IN SPRING, 2011--Groundbreaking was held for the new Convocation, Athletic, and Recreation Complex at SUNY Canton. The 32-million-dollar, 140-thousand square-foot facility will include an ice rink, pool, field house, fitness center, and offices. The "Roos" monicker comes from the SUNY Canton athletic mascot, the Kangaroo.
SIX COUNTS, TWO OF THEM FELONIES FOR ALLEGED RETALIATION AGAINST FEMALE, OTHERS--Sheriff's Deputies say 19-year-old Patrick Whitehill of Moran Road in Lisbon was arrested Wednesday on counts of Felony Assault and Criminal Mischief, and several misdemeanors. He was arraigned and jailed on 1000 dollars cash bail or 2500 dollars bail bond.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PUTS DEKALB MAN IN JAIL--Sheriff's Deputies say 21-year-old Jonothon Rafferty of Maple Ridge Road allegedly threw a woman through a coffee table, choked her and kept her from leaving. He was charged four misdemeanor counts, arraigned and jailed on 500 dollars cash bail or a thousand dollars bail bond.
ARREST FOR 'MAGIC' MUSHROOMS AND MARIJUANA SALES AT SUNY CANTON--19-year-old Manhattan resident Jonathan Hart was arrested this week by the County Drug Task Force on two felony counts alleging he sold and possessed the hallucinogens on the campus last fall. Hart was arraigned and released to probation supervision until future court dates. Hart is a former SUNY Canton student.
MASSENA WOMAN CHARGED IN VEHICLE-RELATED DISPUTE--23-year-old Nichole Meunier allegedly drove a car into a pick-up and did more than 15-hundred dollars damage, and allegedly drove the car without permission after the accident. Meunier was charged with felony Criminal Mischief and other counts, arraigned and released until future court dates.
