POTSDAM LOWE'S STORE TO OPEN ON TIME, CONTRARY TO RUMORS--99 News received several tips yesterday that the home improvement center chain had either put the Potsdam project on hold, or the store would not open at all on Route 56 North; that the company could not come up with 10 million dollars for the stocking of the store. Maureen Rich, a spokesperson for the Lowe's told us none of the rumors are true; the store will open in June as projected.

GUNS SEIZED FROM OGDENSBURG HOME, RESIDENT HELD BY FEDS--Jack Rumble of Ogdensburg was put in Federal custody Thursday afternoon as agents and State Police raided his residence on the 300-block of King Street. At least 150 guns were taken; Rumble is a known collector as was his father. The Watertown Daily Times says Rumble is also known as a survivalist. He reportedly had no permit for the weapons.

POTSDAM VILLAGE-CLARKSON PARTNERSHIP FOR WALK-BIKE TRAILS FUNDED--1.45 million dollars in combined state and federal funds has been awarded to the Village for a series of five separate enhancements to increase pedestrian and bike access to the downtown area from Clarkson, SUNY Potsdam, Pine Street, Outer Elm Street, and Leroy Street.
