LOCAL STATE SENATOR TAKES CREDIT FOR NYPA RATE HIKE BLOCK--Joseph Griffo says he and GOP colleagues were the only opposition voices in a hearing last week on a proposed rate hike and NYPA employee bonuses. He says staff were 'on their game, and paying attention,' allowing legislators to be informed in time.

ALLEGED METAL THEFT FROM POTSDAM AUTO DEALERSHIP RESULTS IN ARREST--Sheriff's Deputies say 25-year-old Jeremiah Deshane of Furnace Street in Norfolk allegedly swiped radiators and tires from TJ Toyota on Route 56. He was charged with Petit Larceny and released in a ticket for Potsdam Town Court.

SEVERE DOMESTIC ABUSE IN HOGANSBRUG BRINGS 15-COUNT GRAND JURY INDICTMENT--26-year-old Bradley Davis allegedly beat, kicked, and punched his live-in girlfriend in an attempt to kill her in July of 2007, and allegedly held her captive for 13 days. Davis pled not guilty to all the charges in Franklin County Court Tuesday; Judge Robert Main committed Davis to jail in lieu of 150-thousand dollars cash bail or 300-thousand dollars bail bond.
