AUBERTINE:GREEN JOBS HOLD MUCH POTENTIAL FOR NORTH COUNTRY--Senator Darrel Aubertine, newly-elected Chair of the State Legislative Committee on Rural Resources, says the assets the North Country has in the potential for environmentally-friendly, green energy-related research and development are being seen on a statewide level, particularly what's going on at Clarkson University and SUNY Canton.
SUNY POTSDAM APPOINTS NEW CRANE DEAN--Dr. Michael Sitton, Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Eastern New Mexico University, will assume the Crane School of Music Dean's position upon the retirement of Dr. Alan Solomon at the end of June this year. Sitton is a well-known pianist and composer of choral works.
BRADY:CAPITAL PROJECT MONEY IS NOT CAPITAL RESERVE--Potsdam School Superintendent Pat Brady says the Board plans to use leftover funds from the recently-completed capital improvement project to bring down the debt of the project; it must be used for project-related purposes. The board cannot touch money set aside for future projects without voter approval, and those must be used for capital improvements as well.
